Advertising faces in the catalogue: 5. Addresses under them: 5. Owners: 1. Every face carries an exact address, plus a photo and a rate-card price where the owner has published them, and we confirm availability with the structure owners before the estimate.

It depends on what the structure faces: the arterial roads, squares, car parks, green areas and pavements of the metropolitan municipality — and anything that merely looks onto them with a facade, a blind wall or a roof — are cleared by that municipality, everything else by one of the 30 district municipalities. A permit is compulsory for any advertising or notice, runs for one year from issue, and renewal must be requested within 15 working days of expiry. The regulation of 16 May 2025 (no. 518) asks the applicant for:

• a scaled colour sketch with a before-and-after photomontage over a photograph of the whole facade;
• third-party liability insurance covering the permit term;
• the notarised consent of the owner, or a unanimous decision of the building assembly;
• an undertaking to maintain, repair and remove the structure;
• the contract between advertiser and advertising firm.

The regulation closes places rather than formats. Advertising and notices are banned:

• inside protected sites (sit alanları) — historic, archaeological, urban and natural — and in front of registered monuments;
• on the lighting poles along the shoreline, on poles inside the junctions of main arteries, and on the first two poles past a junction;
• on the side walls of vehicle underpasses; the crossings themselves are kept for the municipality announcing its own events;
• on motorways and main roads, where only structures of the metropolitan municipality are allowed at all;
• in front of schools, places of worship, consulates and police buildings, and inside the sight triangle of a pedestrian or a driver.

The seafront has a regime of its own: along Atatürk Caddesi (the Birinci Kordon) between Cumhuriyet Meydanı and Alsancak port, the regulation of 13 March 2023 (no. 218) leaves no room for third-party advertising — a venue gets a 60×120 cm menu board and one flag panel on a corner of its awning.

Digital faces in the catalogue: 5 of 5. A screen runs in rotation, but the artwork and the schedule can change mid-campaign, which suits events and sales; a printed board carries one creative for the whole term.

The city regulation adds a limit of its own to the choice: on roadside boards and direction signs it forbids flashing lights, red, amber and green light, and reflective elements, so that a structure is never read as a traffic signal.
