How it works
How to rent a billboard in Astana: four steps
Choosing sites
A city, a format, a district or specific addresses on the map. What you tick goes into a list.
Request
Send us the list and your campaign dates. A manager replies during business hours and clarifies the brief.
Quote and hold
We check availability with the board owners and price the quote. If an address is taken, we'll try to negotiate the current advertiser's move off it, and if that doesn't work, find you an equivalent board nearby.
Artwork and launch
We'll tell you the artwork specs, print, and install. After launch we send a placement report.
Questions
Frequently asked questions about advertising in Astana
Advertising faces in the catalogue: 24. Addresses under them: 24. Owners: 3. Every face comes with an exact address, plus a photo and a rate-card price where the owner has published them, and we confirm availability with the owner before quoting.
Formats in the catalogue: 5. The biggest group is Media facades, and it accounts for 9 of them. Kazakhstan prices placement by area and structure type rather than by format name: the bands are listed line by line in article 655 of the Tax Code:
- units under 2 m² and city-format lightboxes;
- board areas of 2–5, 5–10, 10–20, 20–30, 30–50, 50–70 and over 70 m²;
- illuminated rooftop installations, under and over 30 m²;
- video screens under and over 20 m², and running-text displays;
- street furniture, flags and awnings, portable mobile ads.
Street furniture, bus shelters included, works differently in the capital: advertising on it runs on a contract with the local executive body, and that contract is awarded through an open tender.
Digital surfaces: 24 of 24. Take a screen when the creative and the schedule have to change mid-campaign — for events, sales or times of day; a printed board carries one creative for the whole term.
Rotation does not change the state fee: it is charged per face whatever runs on it and in however many languages. Area does change it — video advertising above 20 m² sits on a higher rate line than a smaller screen.
A Kazakh version is mandatory: the advertising law requires advertising to be distributed in Kazakh, with Russian and others at the advertiser's discretion. The language law also fixes the layout — the state language on the left or on top, Russian on the right or below, in letters of the same size — while a trademark protected in Kazakhstan is reproduced unchanged, never translated.
The capital adds its own step: public-service advertising is cleared by three city departments at once, one being the language development office. The administrative code sets the fine (article 455): breaching the language rules costs a large business 400 MCI, and 650 MCI for a repeat within a year.
The list of bans is set by the advertising law (article 11) and repeated in the city rules. Outdoor advertising is not placed:
- on monuments of history and culture or within their protection zones;
- on religious buildings, their grounds and their fences;
- in specially protected natural areas;
- on the surface of roadways, pavements, footpaths, cycle lanes, boarding areas or stops;
- in a way that resembles a road sign, obscures one or dazzles drivers.
Land comes from public-use land, pavements and cycle lanes excluded, and once a contract expires or the city orders it, a structure is dismantled within 30 calendar days. Since 1 July 2026 one more restriction applies: constitutional law No. 299-VIII counts advertising objects, signboards and wayfinding signs among the objects of the capital design code, so alongside the site and the dates the appearance of the structure itself now matters.
